Nottingham Forest are looking to sign Max Clark from Championship rivals Hull City.

Nottingham Forest have just one game remaining this season and, as soon as the 2017/18 campaign comes to an end, they must devote all their efforts into bringing a left-back to the City Ground this summer.

Forest released Dani Pinillos last year, allowed Armand Traore to go to Cardiff City in the winter and, after Juan Fuentes suffered a broken leg on his debut against Bristol City last weekend, Forest find themselves very stretched on the left of the defence.

Danny Fox can play there but is far more assured at centre-half while the versatile Ben Osborn looks more at home in a midfield role.

So reports in the Hull Daily Mail that Nottingham Forest are hoping to sign Max Clark from Hull City should be seen as a real step in the right direction.

The 22-year-old academy graduate has been a bright spark in a difficult season on Humberside but looks set to leave this summer with his contract due to expire. Clark, who has been at Hull for 10 years, rejected a three-year deal back in September.

And although Clark has just one season of senior Championship football under his belt, the youngster would be a welcome addition for Forest.

Strong in the tackle and boasting a decent deliveries from out wide, Clark would offer some much needed balance to Aitor Karanka’s squad while finally providing an answer to a problem position that has dogged Forest all season long.
