Some Leeds United fans on social media have been absolutely adoring what the club tweeted at kick-off against Liverpool.

The Whites were facing off against the Anfield outfit, but with the Reds trying to form the European Super League, the social media coverage of the game wasn’t quite what you’d expect it to be.

In a defiant move, Leeds refused to call Liverpool by their actual name, instead opting to call them Merseyside Reds, a name that fans of the Pro Evolution Soccer video game series will be very familiar with.

As you can imagine, this tweet sparked a response from the Leeds fanbase, and they were absolutely loving it, praising Craig Wilson, the man often behind Leeds’ social media output.

Leeds, along with seemingly every other football fan in the country, are dead against the idea of the formation of the Super League, and fans love that the club are taking a stand on social media.

Here’s what the Elland Road faithful have been saying about the club’s tweet on social media…
