Salomon Rondon has scored nine Premier League goals since joining Newcastle United on loan from Championship side West Brom.

Newcastle United legend Nobby Solano has praised the impact Salomon Rondon has made at St James’ Park this season and has encouraged his former side to snap up the in-form loanee on a permanent basis, while speaking to the Chronicle.
Rondon joined the Magpies on a 12-month deal from West Bromwich Albion last summer and he is currently enjoying his best ever goal-scoring season in the Premier League, finding the back of the net nine times under Rafael Benitez.
But his long-term future remains uncertain, with the Mail claiming that Newcastle are unwilling to meet West Brom’s £16 million price-tag. Owner Mike Ashley is famously against signing players heading into their thirties and the North East outfit will reportedly offer a maximum of £12 million.
Former Peru play-maker Solano, however, has warned Newcastle that they cannot let his fellow South American slip through their grasp.
“Rondon should be signed. He’s been very good for the team and is top scorer,” said Solano.
“Newcastle don’t have to spend massive money here.

“Would they get a top level striker for £16.million if they don’t sign Rondon? The answer is no. Another striker will cost much more.”
Rondon will not be short of offers if Newcastle decide against meeting West Brom’s demands. The Star claims that he is a target for Everton while the Northern Echo add that West Ham United are keeping tabs on the situation.
