Newcastle United reportedly want to bring Italian midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo to the Premier League from Serie A side AS Roma.

Try as they might, the chances of Nicolo Zaniolo wearing the black and white stripes of Newcastle United next season look slim.
According to the Chronicle, the Magpies are scouring the Italian market for potential summer signings, with Zaniolo one player who appears to have caught the eye of manager Rafael Benitez.
Anyone who has watched Serie A this season will tell you why Zaniolo is a man in demand. He has been a revelation at Roma, establishing himself as one of their star players at the age of just 19 with five goals to his name already.
Inter Milan must be kicking themselves after letting the rising star of Italian football join Roma for just £4.5 million as part of the deal that saw Radja Nainnggolan go in the other direction.

But can Newcastle really lure a player of his calibre to St James’ Park?
It seems that Italian football fans do not think so. Reacting on Twitter, they have ridiculed Newcastle for apparently taking an interest.
As the Chronicle points out, the likes of Real Madrid and Juventus are keen on Zaniolo so, with all due respect, what chance do Newcastle have? He can probably aim a little higher for now.
