Galatasaray winger Garry Rodrigues is a key target for Premier League giants Newcastle United, who have already made two bids.

Garry Rodrigues has made it clear how much Newcastle United will need to pay to tempt Galatasaray into a sale this summer.

The Magpies have been hoping to bring the Dutch-born Cape Verde international to Tyneside since last summer at least, and Gunes reports that they made a second bid worth £7 million for his services in January.

Galatasaray refused to sell, however, as they did not want to lose a key player in the midst of a title race.

But Rodrigues, speaking to Turkish publication Mynet, stated that Newcastle would have to pay about the same £14 million fee that Stoke City stumped up to bring Bodou Ndiaye to the Premier League from Istanbul last month.

This would be quite a considerable sum for a Newcastle side whose transfer record stands at just £3 million more, set when they landed Michael Owen from Real Madrid all the way back in 2005.

But if former Galatasaray assistant Ayhan Akman is to be believed, the risk will be minimal because versatile winger Rodrigues should have no trouble adapting to life in England.

A Newcastle fans shows his frustration during the Premier League match between Newcastle United and AFC Bournemouth at St. James Park on November 4, 2017 in Newcastle upon Tyne, England.

“Garry is a very athletic player. The Premier League could suit him more (than the Turkish top flight) as there will be more space to exploit,” Akman, who worked at Galatasaray when Rodrigues arrived from PAOK in January 2017, told Fanatik.

“But he has to make better decisions, such as when to pass and when to shoot.”

Despite these apparent problems with his end product, Rodrigues has still produced an impressive four goals and six assists in the league this season.
