Newcastle United pulled off a coup when they brought Swiss striker Yannick Toure to the Premier League from BSC Young Boys.

It is well documented that Newcastle United once again missed out on the majority of Rafa Benitez’s top targets this summer.
With Mike Ashley keeping the purse strings tightly drawn, Benitez was limited to spending £20 million in the transfer market, and that failure to invest properly looks to have cost the Magpies dear as they sit in the relegation zone with no wins in seven.
But at least Newcastle fans have Yannick Toure to look forward to. The 18-year-old is one of the most promising young strikers in Europe and the Tynesiders certainly pulled off a coup when they landed the Senegal-born Switzerland starlet.
Toure scored 23 goals in 23 games for Young Boys in the U18 league last season before his contract expired
So far, however, the teenager has not made a single appearance for Newcastle at youth level. And reserve coach Ben Dawson has now explained why.
“He’s a little bit of a niggle We are conscious he is still young and we haven’t known much about his training programme from last year in Switzerland,” Dawson said after Newcastle’s U23s beat Fulham 5-2, as reported by the Chronicle.

“So we have just had to manage him the best way we can. It is frustrating for him but also frustrating for us.
“What we have seen so far has been an exciting prospect. We have to manage him and gradually get him used to training four days a week before game. It is also those bits about growing up and maturing.”
Newcastle have scored just four times in seven Premier League matches this season, with Ayoze Perez and summer signing Salomon Rondon yet to get off the mark.
So the Magpies could really benefit from Toure hitting the ground running for the second string once he has settled on Tyneside.
