A creative and dynamic midfielder who has emerged as one of the Eredivisie’s most promising youngsters in the last 18 months, the 20-year-old has even been likened to Newcastle’s former number five.

Speaking to Voetbal International, Groningen coach Danny Buijs likened Doan to a young Wijnaldum and the similarities certainly go beyond the fact that he has honed his trade in the Dutch top flight.
