Premier League champions Manchester City reportedly want Kenny Lala from Ligue 1 side Strasbourg so have Newcastle United missed out now?

Strasbourg face a big challenge hanging onto their instrumental right-back Kenny Lala this summer with Manchester City interested in signing the Frenchman, according to Le10 Sport.
The 27-year-old has enjoyed a fine season for the Ligue 1 high-flyers, producing 10 assists in all competitions while helping unfancied Strasbourg beat Guingamp in the Coupe de la Ligue final in March – the club’s first major honour since 2005.
And according to Le10 Sport, Lala’s outstanding displays on the right of Thierry Laurey’s back line have caught the eye of the Premier League champions.
Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City have been sending scouts to watch the former Lens defender in recent weeks and apparently see him as potential competition for Kyle Walker at right-back.
This will only increase speculation surrounding the future of Brazil international Danilo. The former Real Madrid ace is expected to leave the Etihad Stadium this summer and has already said yes to a move to Inter Milan, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

Le10 Sport claims that Lala is expected to cost around £13 million. And Newcastle United must be rueing their failure to complete a deal for Lala when they had the chance.
France Football reported in January that The Magpies were watching the swashbuckling French star and Lala, who has a terrific record in the final third, would be an undoubted upgrade on DeAndre Yedlin and Javi Manquillo.
But with Manchester City now in the race, it seems that their chance has passed Newcastle by.
