Rafa Benitez’s Newcastle United could reportedly raid Huddersfield Town if they are relegated from the Premier League.

Newcastle United have been linked with one of Huddersfield Town’s star players this week, but it seems another tenacious Terrier is the one the fans are demanding instead.
According to the Northern Echo, the Magpies could make a move for Aaron Mooy with the Australian international set to emerge out of a campaign that is all-but certain to end in relegation with his reputation enhanced.
Mooy is a talented and intelligent central midfielder who scored a stunning winner against Newcastle last season. On paper, the one-time Bolton youngster would be a ready-made replacement for the seemingly departing Jonjo Shelvey.
But if some Newcastle fans had a choice, Philip Billing would be the Huddersfield midfielder on his way to St James’ Park rather than Mooy.

The 22-year-old Dane has starred in a struggling side all season long with his mix of physical and technical attributes making him one of the Premier League’s most promising all-round central midfielders.
Billing admitted to the Evening Express earlier this month that he would consider leaving Huddersfield in the summer and it seems he would be welcomed with open arms on Tyneside.
