Morgan Fox shone as Sheffield Wednesday beat Rotherham United in the Carabao Cup but is he heading to League One Sunderland?

The Morgan Fox debate threatens to split Sheffield Wednesday fans right down the middle.
Rightly or wrongly, the 25-year-old was been the boo-boys number one target in recent months. He was jeered by his own ‘fans’ once again during the recent 1-0 win against Luton Town and, speaking to the Star, Fox admitted that he was desperate to prove his critics wrong.
And a diligent defensive display during Wednesday’s Carabao Cup victory against Rotherham United is certainly one way to turn the jeers into cheers.

Lining up at left-back, Fox was one of the few standout players in a game severely low on quality, and he made a terrific sliding challenge to deny Ben Wiles a clear sight at goal before Atdhe Nuhiu scrambled home a 96th-minute winner.
In fact, this was exactly the sort of performance which explains why Sunderland are so keen to bring Fox to the Stadium of Light.
According to the Northern Echo, the Black Cats are set to make a second bid for the former Charlton defender, even if Sheffield Wednesday’s interim boss Lee Bullen is determined to keep him at Hillsborough.
