West Bromwich Albion sold Jay Rodriguez to Premier League outfit Burnley in July but now he has been linked with Antonio Conte’s Serie A leaders.

When Jay Rodriguez left The Hawthorns for a second spell at Burnley in July, fans of West Bromwich Albion probably didn’t expect him to be linked with Antonio Conte’s Serie A leaders Inter Milan less than three months later.
But that is the bizarre situation Rodriguez finds himself in this week.
According to the BBC, West Brom sold a striker who scored 22 goals in the Championship last season for an initial £5 million in the summer months. They didn’t have much choice either, thanks to that pesky release clause.
Now, it feels unlikely that Burnley are going to cash in on their prodigal son after just half a season back at Turf Moor but the chance to join a club with the history and the stature of Inter Milan, who have won their first six Serie A games under Conte, only comes around once in every lifetime for a player like Rodriguez.

According to Calciomercatoweb, Inter are already planning to bring in a back-up striker in January to take the pressure off Romelu Lukaku with Olivier Giroud, Andrea Petagna and Kevin Lasagna all in their sights.
It’s fair to say Rodriguez is a shock inclusion in such a list, however, though we can only assume that the one-time England international caught the eye of Conte during his two seasons in charge of Chelsea.
