Scottish Premiership champions Celtic reportedly want to sign Che Adams, who has scored 19 Championship goals for Birmingham City this season.
Birmingham City have to be applauded for standing firm during the final few days of the January transfer window, turning down huge sums for star striker Che Adams to keep their play-off dream alive.
The converted winger has been a revelation at Garry Monk’s high-flying Blues, sitting fourth in the Championship’s top scorer charts with 19 goals so far. No wonder there is plenty of interest.
The Mirror reported on Sunday that Arsenal and Manchester United are keen to give Adams a chance to prove himself in the Premier League with Birmingham demanding £22 million for one of the most exciting young forwards in English football (the Times).
So what chance to Celtic realistically have? The Mirror claimed that the Hoops also want to lure Adams to Scotland at the end of this season, but it seems that the Birmingham fans are not worried about their star man leaving for Glasgow.
The chances of Celtic being able to afford Adams seem slim, given that their record signing cost just £9 million, and a move to Scotland would apparently be something of a step down.
