Alex Pearce has spent the last few months on loan at Millwall after making one Championship appearance under Frank Lampard at Derby County.

Millwall are keen to sign Alex Pearce when his contract at Derby County expires in the summer, manager Neil Harris has said in quotes reported by the Derby Telegraph.
The 30-year-old defender moved to Pride Park on a free from Reading in the summer of 2015 and it seems that he is set to leave the East Midland giants in similar circumstances, given that he has just a few weeks left on his current deal.
Pearce joined Millwall on loan in January and has impressed in his 10 Championship appearances for the Londoners, guiding Harris’ side away from the relegation zone with their safety now confirmed.
And Harris has admitted that he’d love to keep the former Southampton and Bournemouth centre-back at the Den.
“Pearcey has come in and his leadership qualities as a defender, his qualities as a man and professional have been outstanding. I’ve been so impressed with him,” the manager said.

“As a player and as a person, he is a player I’d definitely like to keep at the club and work with moving forward.”
Pearce seems unlikely to be offered fresh terms at Derby given that he played just one minute of Championship football under Frank Lampard between August and January.
But The Rams will probably need to sign a new defender themselves with Fikayo Tomori, the club’s Player of the Year, set to return to parent club Chelsea.
