Newcastle United have reportedly agreed personal terms with Atlanta United’s MLS star Miguel Almiron but will not pay more than £16million.

Newcastle United could be about to miss out on Miguel Almiron on the basis of just £4 million.
According to the Northern Echo today, the Magpies have agreed personal terms with the Atlanta United play-maker, who was a revelation in the MLS last season, scoring 13 goals and setting up another 11.
But the Chronicle claims that Newcastle simply refused to raise their initial bid of £16 million with Atlanta wanting £4 million more for their star man.
As a result Almiron’s agent, Daniel Campos, has now travelled to Italy in order to find the South American a Serie A club.
So it seems that Newcastle are set to miss out on a player who looked, on paper, like everything Rafa Benitez has been crying out for.

An all-action midfielder who can score and create is something this current Newcastle side has been missing for far too long and Almiron, on current form, would have walked into the Magpies’ starting XI.
But it seems a lack of ambition in the transfer market is once again set to cost the club dear.
