Nathan Wood has been linked with Premier League clubs Everton, Spurs, Arsenal and Burnley despite failing to feature in the Championship for Boro.

It hasn’t exactly gone to plan for the last Middlesbrough defender who left the Riverside to prove himself in the Premier League.
Over a year after joining Burnley for a club-record £15 million, Ben Gibson has played just one top-flight game. And that was a 5-1 home defeat to Everton.
But at least Gibson had over 150 first-team appearances under his belt before he joined a Premier League side in a big-money deal. In contrast, Nathan Wood, the 17-year-old Riverside starlet, has just three to his name.
The son of former Boro left-back Dean Gordon became Middlesbrough’s youngest ever player when he made his senior bow in the EFL Cup 13 months ago at the age of just 16. But despite the fact that he is yet to make a single Championship appearance for Jonathan Woodgate’s side, The Sun claims that Burnley are ready to make a stunning £9 million bid.

Clearly, The Tykes have not been put off by Gibson’s horror spell at Turf Moor.
Everton, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are also keeping tabs on the teen sensation. But, understandably, Middlesbrough fans are hoping one of their most exciting youngsters is not about to follow in Gibson’s footsteps.
