Jamal Lowe has shone in League One for Pompey and has been linked with a move to Championship leaders Leeds United.
Jamal Lowe showed what all the fuss was about on Saturday.
The Portsmouth winger has been linked with a number of Championship sides, including Leeds United, Nottingham Forest and West Brom according to Sky Sports (3 January, 12pm), and produced an eye-catching display as the League One leaders stunned Norwich City in the third round of the FA Cup at Carrow Road.
This continued a fine individual season for Lowe, who has scored 11 goals in all competitions for Pompey.
And Michael Brown, who represented both Leeds and Portsmouth during a long playing career, has praised the 24-year-old for stepping up this season.
“You can see that he has got that desire to try and make it so maybe Leeds United would be interested in him because of that desire,” Brown, who moved from Fratton Park to Elland Road in 2011, told Football League World.
“But there’s a lot of talk and Portsmouth are a club that won’t want to sell so will Leeds be able to get him?
“Other clubs interested in him and rightly so because he is doing a good job.”
Lowe, who is blessed with speed and directness from out wide, would be a welcome addition for a Leeds side who have lost three successive games under Marcelo Bielsa for the first time and lost influential creator Samu Saiz to Getafe in December.
But it goes without saying that Portsmouth will be hoping he stays on the South Coast as Kenny Jackett’s side aim to secure a long-awaited return to the Championship.
