Lyon’s Ligue 1 star Maxwel Cornet has made it clear that he would love to sign for Premier League giants Liverpool.

With Daniel Sturridge on his way out of Liverpool this summer and Xherdan Shaqiri seemingly failing to win over Jurgen Klopp so far, the Champions of Europe could perhaps benefit from signing one more forward to add some much-needed quality in reserve.
While Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane are firmly established as maybe the most feared front three in world football right now, there is a lack of real depth at Anfield.
If only they could sign an explosive, versatile forward capable of coming off the bench when required and making an impact. Fortunately, Maxwel Cornet has made it very clear that he’d welcome the chance to pull on the famous red shirt.

Speaking to BeIN Sports in May, the jet-heeled Lyon forward admitted that he would be ‘flattered’ by a potential move to Merseyside, admitting that Liverpool were a ‘big club’ he’d be proud to represent.
The ongoing African Cup of Nations in Egypt gives Cornet the chance to show why Liverpool should make him the next addition to Klopp’s star-studded squad. And in just 22 minutes on the pitch, Cornet fizzed a stunning finish into the far corner to put the icing on the Ivory Coast’s 4-1 thrashing of Namibia in the group stage.
Tellingly, this is exactly what Liverpool need – a super-sub capable of changing the game from the bench.
