Tottenham Hotspur defender Danny Rose seemed to be given a second chance by Mauricio Pochettino this season.

Danny Rose of England takes a throw-in during the International Friendly match between England and Italy at Wembley Stadium on March 27, 2018 in London, England.

Danny Rose’s place at Tottenham Hotspur may not actually be all that secure, after links with Ben Chilwell and Luke Shaw in recent times.

According to the Telegraph, Tottenham are looking to sign Chilwell, while The Sun claim that Shaw is on their radar.

And Mauricio Pochettino’s desire to bring in a new left-back in January, perhaps suggests that Rose isn’t a firmly established part of his plans again after all.

Rose, who is on a £65,000-a-week contract (Telegraph), was selected to start for Tottenham in their match against Manchester United, which seem to be an indication that he was being re-introduced into Pochettino’s plan.

Rose barely featured for Spurs after injury and controversial comments seemed to push him out of favour.

It was expected that Rose would leave in the summer, but he stuck around – and Pochettino has used him so far this season.

However, his latest transfer plans, may just indicate that Rose’s reprieve is only to be a short-term fix, as if Spurs do sign another left-back then the England international’s future will come into question again.
