Stoke City’s out-of-favour Championship right-back Moritz Bauer is reportedly a target for Premier League outfit Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Matt Doherty has been a revelation in his first few months as a Premier League player.
The Republic of Ireland international has started all 21 of Wolverhampton Wanderers’ top flight games in his favoured right-wing back position and he has caused no end of problems to opposition back lines.
But with a lack of cover in reserve, The Telegraph reports that Wolves are looking to bring in Stoke City’s Austrian international Moritz Bauer on a short-term loan deal until the end of the season.
Bauer, who arrived in England on a £4 million deal from Rubin Kazan a year ago, has started just two Championship games all season after falling out of favour under the now-departed Gary Rowett at the Bet365 Stadium.
But, speaking to Hawksbee and Jacobs on talkSPORT (14 January, 3.50pm), former Wolves goalkeeper Matt Murray has indicated that Bauer would be a solid addition in reserve.
“(Wolves) like to have like-for-like for every position,” Murray explained. “Doherty has been brilliant but if anything was to happen to him then that would affect the balance of team.

“Bauer is a good player for Stoke, although he wouldn’t play ahead of Doherty.”
Wolves are also expected to sign a new striker with Leo Bonatini expected to bid farewell this month and The Mail has claimed that they are in talks over a potential deal for Sparta Prague’s 21-year-old forward Benjamin Tetteh.
The highly-rated Ghanaian has scored nine goals in 15 games this season and is valued at £11 million. And Murray has also suggested that he could replace Bonatini as back-up for Raul Jimenez.
“I think they are looking at Tetteh, they want an out-and-out number nine to give cover for Jimenez because Bonatini is being allowed to go.”
