At the end of the 2016/17 season, Wolves finished closer to the bottom than the top of the Championship but they are now seventh in the Premier League with a genuine stab at European football for next year.

To cement their place in the top seven, or even the top six, Wolves might need to strengthen an already impressive squad in the January transfer window with Nuno Espirito Santo tipped to make a number of big name signings.

And, speaking to talkSPORT (20 December, 11.30am), the swashbuckling wing-back Matt Doherty has admitted that he expects his side to add a number of new faces next month – but believes the current squad is chock-full of Premier League quality.

“I’m sure they be on the lookout because you always want to improve,” Doherty said.

“If there’s players out there and we can add them I’m sure we will do that. But the squad we have now is coping well, we have players coming off the bench who can make an impact.”
