It seems that Marseille fans were pinching themselves when Premier League newcomers Fulham paid £30m for Anguissa.

When Fulham’s owners invested over £100 million in new talent during the summer transfer window, it’s fair to say they won’t have expected to be rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table after 11 games.
But that is the reality facing the Cottagers right now after an insipid 1-0 defeat to fellow strugglers Huddersfield Town on Monday night.
And one player above all appears to be in danger of becoming a scapegoat just weeks into his Fulham career – the £30 million man Andre-Franck Zambo Anguissa.
Fulham broke their transfer record to sign the Cameroonian powerhouse from Marseille but he looked a million miles off the pace at the John Smith’s Stadium, given the run-around by the fittingly Terrier-like Huddersfield trio Aaron Mooy, Phillip Billing and Jonathan Hogg.

And with Fulham fans taking to Twitter to ask why on earth they spend £30 million on a player who looked out of his depth against a limited Huddersfield side, Marseille fans have responded to rub salt into the wounds.
Anguissa did impress in his first season as a regular last season for Marseille, starting 21 Ligue 1 games for Rudi Garcia’s side after a number of standout displays for Cameroon at the 2017 Confederations Cup.
But £30 million? Do Fulham have more money than sense?
