Scottish Premiership champions Celtic reportedly want to sign Fortuna Sittard midfielder Mark Diemers.

If Celtic really want to sign Mark Diemers this summer, they should be very encouraged by what the Fortuna Sittard midfielder told Fox Sports earlier this month.
According to Voetbal International, the Scottish Premiership champions are going to war with a number of Bundesliga sides to snap up one of the most underrated attackers in Eredivisie football.
Diemers was key as Fortuna comfortably avoided relegation in their first season back in the top flight, scoring seven goals and assisting seven more across 2018/19.
And, according to the man himself, his time at the Limburg-based outfit is coming to an end.
“The club wants to sell me and I also want to make a move myself. So if there is a club that wants to pay the money that Fortuna asks, I’ll leave,” Diemers told Fox.

He could hardly have made things clearer. Fortuna are apparently desperate to cash in on their 25-year-old talisman while they can, although it has not yet been reported how much they will demand for Diemers.
Celtic could certainly do worse than to pay whatever the Dutch high-flyers want, however. The Hoops have lacked this kind of creative, goalscoring midfielder since Stuart Armstrong’s heyday after all and they will face a battle with a resurgent Rangers side next season at the top of the Scottish game.
Reinforcements are required.
