The agent of Leeds United striker Marcus Antonsson has told the Yorkshire Evening Post that his client is more than content of life at Elland Road, despite his ongoing lack of game time.
The Swedish striker has endured a frustrating first season in English football since arriving from Kalmar in his homeland last season, winning the Golden Boot in his final season in the Allsvenskan.
However, Antonsson has found goals much harder to come by in Leeds colours although his lack of game time, and Garry Monk’s staunch commitment to an ill-suited lone striker system, has hardly eased the transition into a much tougher league.
Despite a lively start, netting in only his second appearance against Fleetwood Town in the EFL Cup, the 25-year-old hasn’t played more than 20 minutes in a single league game since September as he has been restricted to outings with the club’s under-23s instead.

Nonetheless, Antonsson’s agent, Anders Karlsson, insists that he is “very happy” under Monk after Leeds decided against making him available for loan in January, the Yorkshire Evening Post reports.
Such a decision may well have been taken after Leeds failed to add another striker to their ranks in the transfer window however, meaning Antonsson has a window in which to impress before the season is out.
Chris Wood has scored the majority of the Whites’ goals this season but, beyond him, Leeds are lacking depth in the striking department.

Consequently, it would be no surprise to see them making a new striker a top priority in the summer, regardless of which division they find themselves in, meaning Antonsson will surely find his game-time has been restricted further.
Therefore, he needs to convince Monk in the next few months that he is worth keeping around.
