Neil Lennon was central to Hibs’ deal to sign Marc McNulty on loan from Reading and the Scottish Premiership side are set to face his Celtic side tomorrow.

Hibernian striker Marc McNulty has admitted that he would love to score the winning goal against Neil Lennon’s Celtic this weekend, speaking to the Scotsman.
The Northern Irishman was at the helm of the Edinburgh side when they were about to sign McNulty on loan from Reading in the final days of the January transfer window. But, in a bizarre twist of fate, the 26-year-old is now set to play against Lennon on Saturday.
The 47-year-old left Hibs under a cloud in January and now finds himself in the dugout of Celtic. Lennon returned to Parkhead on an interim basis on Tuesday, replacing Brendan Rodgers with an emotional return to Easter Road beckoning in the Scottish Cup quarter finals.
And McNulty admits that he is hoping to bring a premature end to Lennon’s honeymoon period.
“That would be nice, fingers crossed,” McNulty said when asked whether he is dreaming of netting the winner against Celtic.

“Neil obviously wanted me in but there were people working behind the scenes. Hibs have a recruitment team who do a good job getting players in. In the last couple of windows these people have been trying to get me in. For whatever reason it hasn’t happened but I have to thank them. Neil left and they were the ones that kept at it so I am grateful.”
McNulty is enjoying a terrific start to life in Scotland, having scored six goals in his last four games for a team now managed by the former Leeds United and Barnsley boss Paul Heckingbottom.
So you can imagine that he will cause plenty of headaches for Lennon, who knows just how dangerous the striker can be.
