Crystal Palace and Newcastle United are both facing battles with Manchester United reportedly eyeing exciting additions.
Manchester United are set to make opening bids for two of the Premier League’s brightest young talents – Crystal Palace defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Newcastle United’s homegrown play-maker Sean Longstaff.
United are expected to embark on a substantial overhaul after a dismal 2018/19 season and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer appears to be prioritising some of Britain’s most exciting up-and-coming prospects with Daniel James set to arrive from Swansea City.
According to the Standard, the Red Devils are set to launch a £25 million offer for Wan-Bissaka with Solskjaer having watched the Croydon-born powerhouse since he returned to Old Trafford in December.
Palace are allegedly demanding closer to £50 million, however, meaning Manchester United will probably have to double their bid if they are to stand a chance.
The Telegraph, meanwhile, claims that Newcastle will receive a bid from United for the highly-rated Longstaff within the next 48 hours.
Longstaff has risen through the ranks at St James’ Park to force his way into Rafa Benitez’s first-team plans, earning comparisons with Old Trafford legend Michael Carrick for his excellent passing range.
But Newcastle will be desperate to hang onto their most exciting academy graduate of the last ten years.
