William Saliba could leave Ligue 1 for the Premier League, with the St Etienne defender reportedly catching the eye of Manchester United.

Manchester United are interested in the teenage defender William Saliba and are expected to make a concrete approach in the coming weeks, according to Le10 Sport.
An 18-year-old defender, Saliba has made his breakthrough at Ligue 1 outfit St Etienne this season, making ten appearances for Les Verts as they look to seal a return to European competition.
And it seems that Saliba’s impressively mature performances could see him follow in the footsteps of former St Etienne defender Kurt Zouma and leave for England at an early age.
Manchester United, who are hoping to reinforce their back line this summer, clearly see the France U20 international as a potential star of the future.
The report claims that a bid of £25 million is likely to see St Etienne cash in, though the most successful side in French football history would demand that Saliba is loaned back to the Stade Geoffrey Guichard for the 2019/20 season.

Almost inevitably, Saliba has been compared to fellow Frenchman Raphael Varane, the Real Madrid World Cup winner who has also been linked to United of late.
“This is the future Varane. He is a great player,” former St Etienne ace Fousseni Diawara told But Football Club in February.
