Liverpool are already eight points clear of Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United after just six games of the season.

Manchester United continue to stumble under Jose Mourinho, following up a 1-1 home draw against newly promoted Wolves with an EFL Cup defeat to Championship Derby County on Tuesday night.
After just six Premier League games, United are already six points behind bitter rivals Manchester City and eight behind Liverpool, who have a 100 per cent league record so far.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Giggs has admitted, perhaps through gritted teeth, that Liverpool have made great strides in recent weeks.
“From 1-11 there’s probably not been a better Liverpool team in the Premier League – when Raheem Sterling, Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge were on fire they were really impressive but probably overall it looks like a more balanced team now,” said Giggs, who won the Premier League title 13 times during a stellar career with Manchester United.
“You’ve got players who’ve been in the team a couple of years and you’ve got young players coming through with experience of Jordan Henderson and James Milner so it’s a good blend in there.
“Liverpool haven’t played well in some games but scraped results, which is actually quite scary because if you’re able to do that, that’s championship form, so not only the swash-buckling three or four goals, but digging out results is what you need to do to win it.”
Liverpool face a tough challenge keeping their perfect record intact as they travel to Chelsea on Saturday, having lost 2-1 at home to an Eden Hazard-inspired Blues in Wednesday’s EFL Cup clash at Anfield.
But the likes of Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino and Virgil van Dijk are expected to return to action so do not bet against Klopp celebrating at Stamford Bridge this weekend.
