Liverpool’s deal to sign Lyon’s Ligue 1 ace Nabil Fekir fell through and now Premier League rivals Manchester United are being linked.

Liverpool fans were frustrated enough after a deal for Lyon winger Nabil Fekir collapsed recently.
The Mail stated that Liverpool were close to signing the France international in a £53 million deal. He had even picked out his shirt number and conducted interviews with the club’s in-house media team before the move fell through; the Mail suggesting that problems were uncovered during his medical.

And, just to make matters worse, Lyon’s outspoken president Jean-Michel Aulas has now hinted that Fekir could be on his way to Liverpool’s bitter rivals Manchester United instead.

“I was with Jose Mourinho the other day. We had long discussions,” Aulas said in quotes reported by the Mirror.
“Personally, I am no longer in discussions with Liverpool. At the moment, we are waiting for France and Nabil to have a fantastic World Cup.”

Fekir would be a smart signing for Manchester United with a gap having opened up on the right side of their attacking trio following the departure of Henrikh Mkhitaryan to Arsenal in the January transfer window.
But, should the 24-year-old make the move to Old Trafford, expect a strong response from Liverpool fans, a number of whom seem to be a little frustrated with the club’s transfer activity so far this summer despite the arrivals of Fabinho and Naby Keita.
