Axel Tuanzebe has stood out in the Championship for Aston Villa – but will Premier League giants Manchester United look to bring him back to Old Trafford?

Every other footballing story on the planet was bumped one or two places down the news agenda on Tuesday morning when it was announced that Manchester United had sacked Jose Mourinho. Understandably, Mourinho’s fall has sparked discussion and debate from all corners of the globe.
But what impact could his sudden exit from Old Trafford have in England’s second city? Should Aston Villa fans be concerned about the prospect of Axel Tuanzebe returning to the so-called ‘Theatre of Dreams’ halfway through his second loan spell in the Midlands?
It seems that Manchester United fans would certainly welcome the Carrington graduate back with open arms. United’s defensive deficiencies are well documented after all.

And while Mourinho obviously didn’t feel Tuanzebe was ready to be thrown in at the deep end, it remains to be seen whether his interim replacement, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, thinks the same.
The United legend knows how important young players are to the fabric of his famous old club so it would be little surprise if he was keen to have a close look at the England U21 international, who has been Aston Villa’s standout centre-back this season.
