Are Scottish Premiership champions Celtic now set to miss out on Scott McTominay after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer explained the situation?

Marouane Fellaini is hardly the most popular man in Manchester and he might have made a few enemies in Glasgow on Friday.
According to Sky Sports, Celtic were in talks to sign Man United midfielder Scott McTominay during the January transfer window with the 22-year-old expected to leave Old Trafford on loan in search of more regular game-time.
But United’s caretaker boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has seemingly put pay to any hopes Celtic had of bringing McTominay north of the border – and Fellaini’s month-long injury lay-off appears to have been the final straw.
“Scott is working hard,” Solskjaer said, in quotes reported by the Daily Star. “He’s a young boy I still believe in, we’re working on his contract.
“With the injuries of Felli as well and the squad we have I’m not sure we’re going to see any movement (out of Old Trafford this month).”

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers seemingly confirmed his interest in McTominay on Thursday, describing the 6ft 4ins powerhouse as a ‘very good young player’, Sky add.
But it seems that he will have to look elsewhere as he aims to enhance a Celtic squad who are currently level with bitter Old Firm rivals Rangers at the top of the Scottish Premiership table right now.
Celtic are already one midfielder short as Scott Allan signed a pre-contract agreement to return to Hibernian at the end of the season.
