West Ham United and Wolverhampton Wanderers reportedly want to sign Manchester City’s Premier League winning defender Nicolas Otamendi.

Manchester City are demanding £25 million for wantaway defender Nicolas Otamendi this summer, according to AS.

The Argentina international is coming to the end of his fourth and probably final season at the Etihad Stadium and appears unlikely to add to his 14 Premier League appearances in City’s final day clash with Brighton, a game that will determine the destination of the top flight title.

Otamendi has fallen behind John Stones, Vincent Kompany and Aymeric Laporte in the pecking order and it is claimed that he wants to leave in order to retain his place in the Argentina national team.

According to Marca, Wolverhampton Wanderers and West Ham United are both ready to offer the former Valencia star a fresh start in the Premier League. But they will have to stump up at least £26 million with City keen to recoup the majority of the fee they paid in the summer of 2015.

Otamendi’s agent Jorge Mendes, who has close ties to Wolves, is trying to negotiate a lower fee however to avoid putting potential suitors off.

A move to West Ham would see Otamendi reunite with former City manager Manuel Pellegrini.
