Francis Jno-Baptiste hasn’t made a Premier League appearance for Crystal Palace yet and could he now leave Selhurst Park?

Could Crystal Palace be at risk of losing one of their most exciting young talents in the January transfer window?

Francis Jno-Baptiste was crucial as The Eagles won the U18 Professional Development League South title last season, scoring 15 goals in 23 games. But with a first-team debut so far beyond the teenage Englishman, there are suggestions that he could be on his way out of Selhurst Park.

Speaking to Futbol Direkt, the manager of Swedish outfit Ostersunds, Ian Burchnall, has admitted that he’s interested in offering Jno-Baptiste a route out of Crystal Palace in the January transfer window.

“He is one of many names we are currently working on,” said Burchnall, a Leicester-born coach who succeeded Graham Potter as Ostersunds’ manager.

“We work hard with several different options. But it takes time.”

According to Football London, Crystal Palace would not want to lose Jno-Baptiste, who has made the step up to U23 level this season. But Ostersunds could still attempt to sign him on a short-term loan deal if a permanent transfer is out of the question.

If Jno-Baptiste is not part of Roy Hodgson’s first-team plans over the next few months, maybe he’d be better off heading out on loan like Ryan Innis, Jaroslav Jach and Jason Lokilo.
