Belgium’s World Cup manager Roberto Martinez will not be moving to the Scottish Premiership to permanently replace Brendan Rodgers at Celtic.

No surprises here, with confirmation arriving that Roberto Martinez will not be taking over at Celtic in the summer.
“Roberto always seems to be on the shortlist as soon as there is a vacancy at a big club. But this is a false rumour about him going to Celtic,” his agent, Jesse de Preter, told the Daily Record on Thursday.
After Steve Clarke, Michael O’Neill and Alex Neil issued similar comments which highlighted a lack of interest in taking over at the Scottish Premiership champions, it seems finding a suitable replacement for Brendan Rodgers could be easier said than done.

Former Wigan Athletic and Everton manager Martinez has come on leaps and bounds since taking over a hugely talented Belgium side in 2016, leading a team including Kevin De Bruyne, Eden Hazard and Romelu Lukaku, to the World Cup semi-finals.
He would have been a real coup if Celtic had lured him to Parkhead, ten years after they first offered him the job as reported by the Glasgow Evening Times.
But it seems the Celtic fans did not want him anyway.
