PSG are reportedly interested in Arsenal’s seldom-seen striker Lucas Perez – but he could fulfil his dream at Everton or West Ham.

If Lucas Perez can’t earn a place in Arsenal’s starting XI with Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck ahead of him in the pecking order, you wouldn’t give The Spaniard too much hope of ousting 42-goal Edinson Cavani at Paris Saint Germain.
Yet, according to Goal, PSG boss Unai Emery is keen to bring Lucas to the Parc des Prances after missing out on his signature last summer when Arsenal triggered his £17 million buyout clause.
The former Deportivo forward is understood to be frustrated with his lack of opportunities under Arsene Wenger, starting only nine games in all competitions despite largely impressing when given the chance.
Blessed with rapid pace and renowned for his ability to run behind opposition backlines, the Jamie Vardy-esque striker always appeared an odd fit for an Arsenal side for whom counter-attacks are a rarity.
However, he should fit in far better at PSG with Emery’s sides famous for transitioning from defence to attack in the blinking of an eye – although he would surely be stuck on the bench once again.

Nethertheless, this does not mean that West Ham, linked with Lucas by The Sun, should give up hope. Neither should Everton. The Daily Mail claim Ronald Koeman is still keen after the striker was snatched from under their noses by Arsenal last summer.
Goal adds that Lucas is desperate to earn a place in Spain’s squad ahead of the 2018 World Cup and, although playing Champions League football with PSG would seem the ideal route into manager Julen Lopetegui’s plans, Lucas would be guaranteed exposure at West Ham or Everton.
The likelihood is that the 28-year-old would be a more regular starter in a team lower down the Premier League table. And Spain boss Lopetegui has demonstrated that he values form over reputation with the likes of Ander Herrera, Gerard Deulofeu, Kepa Arrizabalaga and Iago Aspas included in his most recent squad.

Therefore, Lucas should turn down the chance to be a member of PSG’s supporting cast and instead be a leading man at Goodison Park or the London Stadium.
