Gremio’s Brazilian star Luan could move to the Premier League with Liverpool.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp played down suggestions that any new players could be arriving this month.

But Yahoo Sport claim that Brazilian international Luan has now opened talks over a potential move to Anfield. It is understood that Liverpool are negotiating with the attacking midfielder, whose £15.7 million release clause means he would surely be one of the most inspired bargain signings of the season.

Luan, who was named the South American Player of the Year recently after scoring eight times en route to Gremio’s Copa Libertadores victory, could be seen as the ideal replacement for compatriot Philippe Coutinho.

And it will be interesting to see whether Liverpool now press ahead with a move despite Yahoo Sports claiming they have an agreement to sign Monaco’s £90 million-rated Thomas Lemar and remain very interested in Dortmund’s all American superstar Christian Pulisic.

Luan might not be as well known as Lemar or Pulisic but he has the potential to make a real splash in his first foray into European football.

He is a clever and creative midfielder with an eye for goal and should prove to be an excellent fit for Jurgen Klopp’s side, whose lack of creativity in Coutinho’s absence was exposed by Monday night’s 1-0 defeat to Swansea City.
