Premier League giants Liverpool have been tipped to sell winger Sheyi Ojo but he could thrive at Steven Gerrard’s Rangers.
Rangers have spent the whole summer being linked with some of Liverpool’s brightest talents. And, as expected, Steven Gerrard has put his connections to good use, bringing Jon Flanagan to Ibrox on a permanent deal while landing Ryan Kent and Ovie Ejaria on loan.
But what about Sheyi Ojo?
Speaking to the club’s official website, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp admitted he has been impressed with the fleet-footed winger in pre-season but stated that letting him go out on loan would be a ‘no-brainer’.
With Mo Salah, Xherdan Shaqiri and Sadio Mane ahead of him in the pecking order, Ojo is unlikely to get any minutes at Anfield. Now, reports from Goal have stated that Liverpool would consider selling the 21-year-old for £15 million with West Brom leading the chase.
But loaning him to Rangers would be the better decision. The England U21 ace, who moved to Anfield from MK Dons in 2015, has a lot of potential and the Merseyside giants could quickly come to regret letting him go on a permanent basis.
Sending him north to Ibrox, however, would give Ojo the chance to play on a more regular basis and learn the tricks of the trade from an Anfield legend in former captain Gerrard.
The Rangers boss appears to favour pace in attack, starting Kent and Jamie Murphy over Daniel Candieas, so Ojo would be right at home at Ibrox.
