Scottish Premiership giants Rangers sent Ryan Hardie on loan to Championship side Livingston and he could not have made a better start.

Ryan Hardie could not have made a better first impression at Livingston.

The 20-year-old striker moved to the Championship club on loan from top tier giants Rangers in January and has wasted no time showing his parent club what they are missing.

In just three games for Livingston, the Auchenhowie graduate has struck twice already. Hardie is also claiming another in Saturday’s 3-1 win at Falkirk although Raffaele de Vita has been credited with the goal.

Rangers fans are seen during the Scottish Cup Quarter final match between Rangers and Hamilton Academical at Ibrox Stadium on March 4, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Either way, this has been an excellent start to Hardie’s fourth loan spell away from Ibrox. The Scotland under-21 ace netted an impressive eight goals in 22 games at Raith Rovers last season but is already on track to challenge, or even beat, that tally.

And, with former academy boss Graeme Murty now the first-team manager at Rangers, Hardie can dream that an impressive spell in the division below will precede a long-awaited breakthrough season in the Glasgow giants’ senior squad.

Rangers imanager Graeme Murty is seen during the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership match between Rangers and Aberdeen at Ibrox Stadium on January 24, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland.

With Alfredo Morelos’s long-term future in doubt and Eduardo Herrera surely on his way out at the end of a dismal debut campaign, there should be a gap opening up for Hardie to stake his claim in the next few months.

If the youngster makes the same impact that he has on the Livingston supporters, he will be a fans favourite at Ibrox in no time.
