Premier League giants Liverpool sold Iago Aspas for just £4.4m – now he could reportedly swap Celta Vigo for La Liga powerhouses Real Madrid.

Ever since Iago Aspas’ dreadful spell at Liverpool came to an end in 2014, the diminutive striker has set about restoring his reputation.
And when you consider that he is being linked with a big-money move to Real Madrid four years after that infamous scuffed corner against Chelsea, it is fair to say Aspas has got his career back on track in style.
According to Super Deporte, Real Madrid have turned their attention to the Celta Vigo number 10, who Julen Lopetegui knows very well from his time in charge of Spain. It is understood that Aspas is valued at £35 million, meaning he is a lot cheaper that Valencia forward Rodrigo Moreno with his £120 million release clause.
£35 million, however, is still far more than the £4.4 million Liverpool gained when they sold Aspas to Sevilla in 2014, as reported by the IB Times.

But, in today’s market, he is worth every penny. The boyhood Celta fan has blossomed into one of La Liga’s most dangerous forwards since his return to the Balaidos, scoring 55 goals in his three league seasons including 22 in 2017/18.
You could argue that Aspas just wasn’t cut out for English football but perhaps he just needed time to settle. It does seem very harsh to criticise a player who was given just five starts to prove himself in Liverpool colours.
And Liverpool’s loss could soon be Real Madrid’s gain.
