Premier League title-challengers Liverpool are reportedly hoping to add the finishing touches to their squad by signing Serie A ace Nicolo Barella.

Despite losing Emre Can to Juventus on a free transfer, there is certainly an argument to be made that the central midfield that starts Liverpool’s first game next season will be much stronger than the one that reached the Champions League final in May.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have already reinforced considerably with the signings of Fabinho and Naby Keita from Monaco and RB Leipzig respectively. Together, the power-packed duo have cost the Anfield giants around £90 million.
But that does not mean Liverpool have finished adding to their engine room.
The Reds have been linked with Cagliari’s Italy U21 international Nicolo Barella since May, via Calciomercato, and it seems they could be about to step up their interest with a week until the transfer window slams shut.
According to the Mirror, Klopp has taken a liking to the 21-year-old, who is reported to be valued at £25 million after scoring six goals in 34 Serie A starts last season.

Barella is renowned in Italy for his energy and dynamism in attack, driving forward from deep with his impressive turn of pace and purposeful forward passing. He could be seen as a replacement for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who is expected to be on the sidelines until deep into 2018.
Roma, Lyon and Atletico Madrid are all understood to be interested, too, meaning Liverpool face a race against the clock.
