Liverpool’s Joe Gomez could be out for six weeks with a broken leg, meaning he will miss some crucial Premier League and Champions League fixtures.

Joe Gomez has been one of the big plus points in an impressive start to the season from Liverpool.
The England international centre-back has established himself as a first-team regular under Jurgen Klopp, taking full advantage of Dejan Lovren’s late return from the World Cup to nail down a starting place alongside Virgil van Dijk at the heart of the Reds’ back line.
But, with the hectic festive fixture schedule looming, Liverpool have suffered a bitter blow with Gomez ruled out for six weeks with a fractured leg.

The former Charlton Athletic defender sustained the injury in a coming together with Ben Mee in Wednesday’s 3-1 Premier League win at Burnley. And, reacting on Twitter, former Liverpool midfielder Jason McAteer could hardly hide his despair.
If Gomez is indeed out for the next month and a half, he could miss around ten games including crucial domestic clashes against Manchester United and Manchester City, plus the make-or-break Champions League battle with Napoli at Anfield.
But his absence does give Lovren (below) or Joel Matip the chance to force their way back into Klopp’s plans.
