Lazar Markovic made just 19 Premier League appearances for Liverpool, with Jurgen Klopp releasing the one-time £20m signing.

At the age of just 25, Lazar Markovic’s career has gone full circle already.
A dazzling young talent who made his name at Partizan Belgrade with his flowing locks and wand of a left foot earning him the ill-fated ‘Messi of the Balkans’ moniker, Markovic has made an emotional return to the Serbian giants six years after leaving.
Taking to Twitter, Markovic posted a photo of himself posing in Partizan’s famous black and white kit with his trademark number 50 on his back.

And maybe this is exactly what the winger needs as he looks to get an ailing career back on track in familiar surroundings.
It is half a decade now since Markovic made that doomed, £20 million move to Liverpool in the post-Suarez era (BBC). In five years, the former Benfica wonder-kid made just 19 Premier League appearances with loan spells at Hull, Fulham, Sporting Lisbon, Anderlecht and Fenerbahce best left forgotten.
According to the Mirror, Markovic was taking home £35,000 a week at Anfield despite spending much of his time on Merseyside training and playing with the reserves and it was hardly a surprise when he was unceremoniously released at the end of June.
Now, Markovic has taken a big step back in order to move forward again.
