Sporting Lisbon star Bruno Fernandes admits he prefers Liverpool to Premier League champions Manchester City.

Who wouldn’t want to play for Liverpool right now?
Even before they were crowned Champions of Europe in an emotional night in Madrid, Jurgen Klopp’s side had already established themselves as arguably the most exciting young team anywhere on the continent with a perfect blend of thrilling football and a ferocious winning mentality making their performances a joy to behold.
And for Bruno Fernandes, the 32-goal midfielder who has shot to fame over the last 12 months at Sporting Lisbon, Liverpool are now a more attractive proposition than Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City as he weighs up his future.
“Guardiola has made the best of the players in the team, he knew that it was going to be difficult in England and he adapted. It’s a City that plays, more or less, in the way of Barcelona,” Fernandes told Record.

“(But) I like Liverpool a lot more, it’s a more direct, more offensive, maybe less organized, but more intense football, when you do not have the ball possession you are more intense.”
According to the Mirror, Anfield is a potential destination for Fernandes, who Sporting are expected to sell for a reduced fee this summer due to financial reasons. His £90 million release-clause is expected to go ‘un-triggered’.
And after so many years scraping the barrel and searching high and wide for free agents and bargain buys, from Joe Cole to Milan Jovanovic, David N’Gog to Andriy Voronin, it seems that Europe’s hottest prospects are lining up to join Liverpool again.
No wonder the fans are pinching themselves.
