La Liga leaders Barcelona will sell Andre Gomes with Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur both linked.

Barcelona spent months trying to lure a play-maker from Liverpool and, this summer, they could return the favour.
Because according to Spanish daily AS (16 February, front page), the La Liga leaders are keen to sell Andre Gomes after a difficult two years at the Camp Nou. And it is understood that there is serious interest from the red half of Merseyside.
As reported by the BBC, Barca paid about £31 million to sign the Portuguese international after a stellar season with Valencia during the summer of 2016. Gomes, a former Benfica midfielder, was renowned for his dynamic bursts from central midfield and his ability to strike the ball with real power from range.

Those attributes have seldom been seen in a Barcelona shirt, however. Gomes has started just 21 league games for Barca, scoring three times and setting up just one goal. In short, he just has not been up to standard.
West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur have been heavily linked with the 24-year-old since last summer and AS claim that the London duo are still interested.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is one of the best in the game when it comes to helping talented young players realise his potential so Tottenham fans should be hopeful that Gomes could rediscover his Valencia best at White Hart Lane.
But with Liverpool still needing to replace the talismanic Philippe Coutinho, despite Jurgen Klopp’s side continuing to create and score at an impressive rate, they could perhaps be tempted to do business with Barca again.
