Derby County released Lewis Walker in August but the young striker could get a Championship chance with Queens Park Rangers.

Lewis Walker was released by Derby County in August and he has just been handed a chance to get his career back on track.
As reported by the Derby Telegraph, the 20-year-old striker had his contract cancelled by ‘mutual consent’ on transfer deadline day, two-and-a-half years after he arrived at Pride Park from non-league Ilkeston.
But according to West London Sport, Walker could sign for another Championship club. It is claimed that Queens Park Rangers have handed Walker a trial with a view to the youngster, who is the son of Nottingham Forest legend Des, being offered a professional contract.
Walker will now be hoping to impress the Loftus Road chiefs after failing to make a single first-team appearance during his time at Derby.
The forward, whose brother Tyler (below) is on loan at Mansfield from Nottingham Forest, had a trial at National League outfit Chesterfield in the summer but the Spireites decided against bringing him in.

Nonetheless, Chesterfield boss Martin Allen still believes that Walker has the potential to go far in his career, though it is yet to really take off.
“He’s a good player, he’s going to be a very good player,” Allen told the Derby Telegraph.
“I think with hard work and development programme, with upper body strengthening, he’s certainly got something. He had a great attitude and desire but at the moment it wasn’t right for us to bring him in.”
