Scottish Premiership champions Celtic reportedly want to reunite Neil Lennon with Tottenham Hotspur’s Victor Wanyama.

Victor Wanyama of Celtic celebrates after scoring during the UEFA Champions League Group G match between Celtic and Barcelona at Celtic Park on November 7, 2012 in Glasgow, Scotland.

It feels like a lifetime since Victor Wanyama was dominating midfields and obliterating strikers in the green and white Hoops of Celtic. But, even six years after leaving the Glasgow giants, the Tottenham Hotspur powerhouse has not forgotten the impact Neil Lennon made on his career.

“I will always be grateful to Celtic for what they did for me and I will always be grateful to Neil Lennon, too,” he told the Glasgow Evening Times in May.

“I think he is a fantastic manager and a fantastic coach but he is also a good man. He taught me the game. He made me a mature player. He gave me that understanding which let me go on.”

The feeling is certainly mutual.

After bringing Fraser Forster back to Parkhead from Southampton, the Daily Record reports that Lennon is hoping to re-sign another hero from that balmy 2012 night against Barcelona.

Wanyama, who scored a towering header in that Champions League win against the La Liga giants, is allegedly wanted by Celtic on loan after falling out of favour at Spurs. A £13 million move to Club Brugge has stalled, opening the door for a player who Lennon once tipped for the very top.

“(He’s worth) £25m. Wanyama has the world at his feet,” Lennon told the BBC during the Kenyan’s time at Celtic, insisting that he had the quality and the potential to one day play for Barcelona.

“But his feet are here and they won’t be going anywhere unless we say so.”

Wanyama might have never developed into a midfielder worthy of the Catalan giants but he would certainly have no problems controlling midfield battles in Scotland, even if he has endured a miserable 12 months in North London.
