Steven Gerrard’s Scottish Premiership side Rangers were restricted to a goalless draw by Legia Warsaw of Poland in their Europa League qualifier.

Legia Warsaw coach Aleksandar Vukovic believes that Rangers are now slight favourites to reach the group stages of the Europa League after a tense 0-0 draw with Steven Gerrard’s side on Thursday night, while speaking to Onet Sport.
The Gers knew they were in for a challenge when they headed to Poland in the final qualifying round.
And, as expected, the two sides looked very evenly matched throughout with the Glasgow giants weathering a second half storm to secure an impressive first-leg result against the backdrop of a vociferous home support in Poland.
Veteran goalkeeper Allan McGregor made a series of superb stops to ensure Gerrard has lost just two of his 21 European fixtures in charge while Joe Aribo produced yet another stand-out performance in the centre of midfield.

“The rematch will take place in a week. From the beginning, let’s consider Rangers as the favourite of this two-legged game. I will say that there is a 60 percent chance for Rangers and 40 percent for us,” Vukovic said after keeping a side who put seven goals past Midtjylland off the score sheet.
“If we were less brave in this match, we would probably have ended up like Rangers’ last opponents.”
Rangers might be quite content with a hard-thought draw on the road but they will be fully aware that one away goal from Legia at Ibrox would change the make-up of the tie in the blinking of an eye.
The usually reliable Alfredo Morelos missed Rangers’ best chance of the first-leg – will that come back to haunt them in six days time?
