Victor Orta could be bringing another young talent to Elland Road with Fulham’s Dan Martin given a chance to impress on trial from Craven Cottage.

Andrea Radrizzani, Owner of Leeds United (L) looks on during the Sky Bet Championship match between Bristol City and Leeds United at Ashton Gate on October 21, 2017 in Bristol, England.

If there is one thing Victor Orta can be praised for since being appointed as Leeds United’s Director of Football almost a year ago, it is that he has brought some real talents to the Elland Road academy.

The likes of Ryan Edmondson, Sam Dalby, Jordan Stevens and Kun Temenuzhkov have given supporters reason for optimism with their displays at U18 and U23 level this season. And it seems that there could be another highly-rated youngster heading to West Yorkshire very soon.

Dan Martin was an eye-catching name on the team-sheet for the U23 clash with Millwall on Monday afternoon – mostly because this 18-year-old left-back is not contracted to Leeds United.

Instead, the highly-rated Englishman is understood to be on trial at the West Yorkshire giants. And, should he impress, it will be interesting to see whether he becomes the latest fresh-faced talent to join Leeds’ ever expanding academy during Orta’s reign.

Maidstone-born Martin joined Fulham as a schoolboy and is renowned for his versatility. He can play anywhere on the left and is also able to fill in at central midfield when required.

Interestingly, left-back has become a problem position at Leeds ever since Charlie Taylor departed for Burnley last year with Vurnon Anita, Stuart Dallas, Cameron Borthwick-Jackson and January signing Laurens de Bock all struggling to nail down a place.
