Leeds should pursue double-deal for Hull City duo Hernandez and Clark

Abel Hernandez and Max Clark are expected to leave Championship club Hull City this summer and Leeds United should be circling.

Hull City have already lost influential goalkeeper Allan McGregor to Rangers and it seems two more of the Tigers’ star men are also set to depart for absolutely nothing.

According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds United are keen to swoop for out-of-contract striker Abel Hernandez, who appears to be a ready made replacement for the 2017 Championship Golden Boot winner Chris Wood.

Leeds lacked a prolific goal-scorer this season, so the fans will be thrilled to learn that Hernandez has scored 29 goals in 45 Championship starts.

But should the Whites be aiming to swoop for another Hull star this summer, too?

Left-back remains a problem area of Leeds’ squad, with the 20-year-old Tom Pearce out of contract and linked with a move away and Laurens de Bock struggling since his January move from Belgium.

But, according to the Hull Daily Mail, Max Clarke is a target for a number of Championship clubs, including Nottingham Forest and Millwall, with his contract due to expire after a fine breakthrough season on Humberside.

The 22-year-old has the potential to be one of the league’s most impressive full-backs and, along with Hernandez, would certainly reinforce a Leeds squad badly lacking in depth and quality.
