Middlesbrough could look to sell out-of-favour midfielder Adam Forshaw with Leeds United and Championship rivals Cardiff City in the chase.

The main criticism levelled at Leeds United’s Director of Football Victor Orta has centred around the fact that the majority of his signings are absolutely unproven at Championship level.
While Samu Saiz and Ezgjan Alioski look inspired additions from abroad, the likes of Jay-Roy Grot, Mateusz Klich and Felix Wiedwald have been huge disappointments, meaning Orta has come under a great deal of scrutiny.
The fans have made it clear that they want players with Championship experience who have been there and done it before. Someone like Adam Forshaw.

The 26-year-old has spent three of the last four seasons in the second tier and played a major role as Middlesbrough were promoted to the Premier League as recently as 2016.
The report states that Leeds are willing to match Cardiff’s offer of £2.5 million for the former Everton youngster and believe that Forshaw would prefer a move to West Yorkshire over South Wales.

With Ronaldo Vieira injured and Eunon O’Kane facing a three-match ban for a petulant sending off against Ipswich Town on Saturday, Leeds have stepped up their pursuit of a central midfielder. And Forshaw is the kind of canny, established operator that could make a difference both on and off the pitch in Thomas Christiansen’s squad.
This could be £2.5 million well spent by Orta.
