Ezgjan Alioski did not have his best game as Leeds United edged out fellow Championship high-flyers Ipswich Town 3-2 at Elland Road.

No one could possibly question Ezgjan Alioski’s work rate as Leeds United kept their place at the top of the Championship with an edgy 3-2 win against Ipswich Town at Elland Road on Saturday afternoon.
The Macedonian fan favourite put in one hell of a shift once again for Thomas Christiansen’s side but it is fair to say his end product was a little lacking.
Alioski failed to produce an accurate cross in his 90 minutes on the pitch while all three of his attempts on goal missed the target. That is the nature of a winger, of course, and you cannot expect consistency from a player employed to take risks.

Yet, the 25-year-old could do with adding a little efficiency to his end product if he is to build on a positive start to life at Elland Road that already has fans bellowing his name from the terraces.
Leeds travel to Cardiff City on Tuesday with Neil Warnock’s side down in third place on goal difference only. And you wonder whether, after starting eight of Leeds’ nine Championship games so far this season, Alioski would benefit from starting on the bench in South Wales.

The Championship is a taxing competition, both mentally and physically, and you could hardly blame Alioski for having an off day just a few months after arriving from Switzerland.
Although Leeds cannot really afford one of those in Cardiff.
